New Immunization Requirements for Students Entering 11th Grade in 20-21 School Year
Parents Help! Please complete the Georgia Parent Survey!
The Georgia Parent Survey contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone, or tablet. All parents are encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous, self-reported, and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish.
Information about Pre-K Registration
Pre-K registration for the 2020-2021 school year begins Monday, February 3. Registration packets can be picked up at the Board of Education and Screven County Elementary School or accessed online. Completed Pre-K applications and documentation must be submitted to the Board of Education before Wednesday, March 4 at 4:30. The Pre-K lottery drawing will be held at the Screven County High School Auditorium on Thursday, March 5 at 9:00. For additional information, contact Melanie Lovett at 912-451-2000.
Screven County Schools Earn Awards and Important Designations
All three schools earned the Beating the Odds designation for the second year in a row. In addition, both SCMS and SCHS received a Single Statewide Accountability (SSAS) Award for meeting the Greatest Gains Criteria. SCMS earned Silver and SCHS earned Platinum. Georgia Young Authors Winners
The purpose of the Young Georgia Authors' writing competition is to encourage students to develop enthusiasm for their writing and to recognize student achievement in arts and academics. This competition has been around for over twenty years and is open to any student enrolled in a Georgia public school. Screven County High School is proud to announce that tenth-grader Thomas James and eleventh-grader Emily Peedin are winners at the school and system level. Their essays will now go on to the RESA District Competition. Congratulations Thomas and Emily on your accomplishments and good luck at the next level of competition. We would also like to thank the other students who took their time to submit essays for judging.
Screven County Schools Excel on CCRPI and School Climate!
The Georgia Department of Education has released the 2019 College and Career Performance Index (CCRPI) scores for schools and districts and 2019 School Climate Scores. Our district CCRPI score is above the state average and ranks 5th when compared to 20 surrounding districts. All schools are above the state average and have a 4 star rating for School Climate.
